Turning off mail forwarding End of mail forwarding from September 2021

Currently, holders of a Uni-ID can set up automatic email forwarding of their mails in GOsa², which redirects all incoming emails to an email address of your choice.

However, since there have recently been increasing problems with external mail providers, so that redirected e-mails from uni-bonn.de mail servers are either delivered with a delay by the spam filters, moved to the spam folder or even discarded, the University of Bonn has decided to only allow automatic redirections to Uni-Bonn mail servers in the future. For employees email addresses, external mail redirections are generally problematic from a legal point of view. Existing entries for automatic redirections to external addresses are therefore to be successively deleted - the persons affected will be specifically contacted. The Alumni section is exempt from this measure. Automatic redirections to university mail servers are still possible.

This deactivation of automatic redirections will take effect at the end of September 2021 and will affect both employees and students of the University of Bonn. Redirected e-mail accounts should be changed in advance if possible.
