Windows 11 and Office 2021 The rollout of Windows 11 and Office 2021 has been announced by Microsoft for 5 October 2021.

The operating system will be available on new PCs and gradually made available as a free upgrade on eligible Windows 10 PCs via Windows Updates.
For the compatibility check, there is both an official tool "PC Health Check" and an open source alternative "WhyNotWin11".

Office 2021

Likewise, there are new purchase versions of MS Office 2021 with the usual monthly and bi-annual updates. The new version can be purchased via the Asknet shop.


Some important questions:

  • How long will Microsoft continue to support Windows 10 and Office 2019? Windows 10 and Office 2019 support will continue until October 2025 and feature and quality updates will continue to be provided until then as well.
  • Will HRZ services be compatible with Windows 11? All HRZ services have been tested as part of the Windows Insider Programme and no glitches were found.
  • Will Windows 11 be able to be used without a Microsoft account? As things stand, only Windows 11 Pro can be used without a Microsoft account, Windows 11 Home cannot.
