Guidance and Support

One of the fundamental functions of the Hochschulrechenzentrum is to support and advise members of the university on IT matters.

 

Our consulting service takes place on various levels:

  • Contact/Visit The IT-Helpdesk

  • Find information on the website of the Hochschulrechenzentrum
  • Benefit from an individual consultation upon making an appointment with one of our specialized employees

 

Consulting Service

Our consulting service focuses mainly on the problems that students and employees of the University of Bonn face concerning IT matters. We will assist you with the use of all our services and related problems that may occur. The consultation service will provide help with troubleshooting and problem-solving.

All our offers present support on self-help and are provided under the exclusion of liability.

The HRZ will not take responsibility for errors upon alterations of the hardware, configuration of processors or installation of software, once the customer asks for help. Consultation in such cases can only be given when the customer clearly requests it, thereby waiving the right to make liability claims.

Not supported areas

The HRZ tries to help you in every way possible. Unfortunately, as the range of problems can be very wide, we are not always able to satisfy all of your needs. Especially visiting (e.g. at the workplace) is not something we can offer.  

Problems concerning Macintosh cannot be handled by the HRZ: For such cases, please contact Apple Support Center of the university.
