All members of the University of Bonn receive an e-mail box with an e-mail address in the form uni-id@uni-bonn.de. Information relevant to studies and work will be delivered to this mailbox. Through our Identity Management you can create two alias names.

All members of the university receive a Bonn University e-mail address with their Uni-ID.
What for?
Functions
- Receiving and sending e-mails, as well as out-of-office notification.
- In addition, the e-mail box also offers further groupware functionalities.

Usage
If you have received a Uni-ID and activated it, you can access the e-mail portal of the University of Bonn (Webmail) and use all the functions of the e-mail service.
Clients
The university e-mail address can also be used via clients.
Mailboxcontingent
The currently valid and available mailbox size for employees of the University of Bonn is 5 GB.
Students have 500 MB at their disposal.

FAQs
You can do this by logging in at mail.uni-bonn.de with your university ID. If you would like to use an e-mail programme, you will find the instructions for this in our HRZ-Doku.
You cannot set up a forwarding to a private e-mail address. For technical and legal reasons, this is not possible. However, you can set up a forwarding to another Uni-Bonn mail. You can configure this on gosa.gosa.uni-bonn.de under the tab "Mail".
Former members of the University of Bonn may keep a Uni Bonn email address as a forwarding to their private email address. However, for legal reasons, this does not give them access to the University of Bonn's email service, but only forwards incoming emails.
For this service, you must become a member of the Alumni Network or the University Society.
Please check whether you can log in to gosa.gosa.uni-bonn.de with your Uni-ID. If this is not the case, there is a problem with your Uni-ID. If you can log in there but not on mail.uni-bonn.de, please contact the IT-Helpdesk.
