Simplified processing and administration of e-mail lists

E-mail lists can be recommended as a more efficient alternative to communication within newsgroups, which in some cases produce a very large number of messages.

The e-mail list service is intended for the exchange of information within groups with a limited number of participants. An e-mail list comprises the e-mail addresses of its members under a common address. An e-mail to this list address is sent to all list members.

Lists on the list server of the HRZ are addressed with listenname@listen.uni-bonn.de.

For whom?

This service is available to all employees of the University of Bonn.

What for?

List organisation

The website of the Mailing List Service can be reached at the address: listen.uni-bonn.de.

There you can set up and administer new lists, subscribe to or unsubscribe from lists via a web interface.

    How does it work?

With your Uni-ID you can log in to the web frontend of listen.uni-bonn.de and register for lists or create mailing lists yourself. A mailing list you have created must be activated by the administration. After creating a mailing list, please contact listenadmin@uni-bonn.de. It is also possible to add subscribers from outside the University of Bonn to mailing lists.
