Wiki - Confluence

Confluence is a wiki system. It allows knowledge to be documented and communicated quickly and easily. It provides a place to capture content and collaborate in teams or projects. With the help of areas, knowledge is structured and shared so that every team member can access the information they need.

Confluence is run on servers at the HRZ (no cloud), which means that all data remains on servers at the university. The use of the tool is coordinated with the data protection and IT security officer.

For whom?

Employees

Confluence is available to all employees of the University of Bonn; login is possible with an employee ID.

Students & Guests

Students and guests can have read-only access, depending on the release of the data.

What for?

Classic Wiki

In the first step, Confluence is a classic wiki. It is excellently suited to documenting and storing knowledge and information in a structured way. At the same time, Confluence is also a collaboration tool. For example, it enables the creation of meeting notes, the division of small work packages and also enables direct simultaneous work on content. In addition, tables, diagrams, graphics, etc. can also be stored in Confluence.

This means that an extremely wide range of application scenarios are conceivable - from the classic wiki in which information is stored to institute areas in which meetings and minutes are documented, work tasks are distributed and even smaller projects can be carried out in a structured manner.
