For years, the HRZ has operated a proxy server for use by university staff. Today, the original purpose of accelerated website access is no longer given. For privacy protection (IP obfuscation), the HRZ offers VPN services.
Additionally, the proxy has become less and less in demand in recent years. Only a handful of connections are still active on the system, which no longer justifies its continued operation in the future. We will therefore discontinue the service after June 30th 2023.
